Frontline Plus Competition...
Did you know - only adult fleas live on your pet, whereas eggs drop off as they wander around your home.
Fleas can lay up to 50 eggs per day, so the population in your home can rapidly grow. Flea larvae love to hide in dark nooks and crannies so move furniture and vacuum thoroughly. Treat your home using Frontline HomeGard spray.
How do I ‘spring clean’ my pet?
1. Pick a time when your pet is calm and and groom using a brush or a comb. You may not see any adult fleas but flea dirt (flea poo!) is a telltale sign of infestation. Check by combing your pet’s coat onto a damp paper towel. Any real flea dirts will appear as a black dot with a red halo, due to the blood that the flea digests.
2. Whilst combing your pet, part the fur to check for any ticks. Take your time, as these creepy crawlies can be as small as a sesame seed and difficult to spot. Knowing where to look can help, so make sure you check their favourite ‘hang-outs’ e.g. hairless areas, face, ears and toes. The best way to safely remove them is by using a tick remover.
3. With all that muddy fun and puddle bathing over the last few months, a nice bath followed by a good shake and dry outside in the sunshine will freshen up your pet – just don’t be surprised if they roll in a cowpat straight after!
4. If their Frontline Plus treatment is due, then now is a good time to apply it - remember, make sure your pet is dry before applying and don’t bathe them or allow them to swim for 48 hours after application!
Your home and your pet will now be ready to embrace spring and enjoy all the joys that come with it!
